CHAPLET TO ARCHANGEL ST. MICHAEL (See prayer to Mary Queen of Angels further down) One day St. Michael Archangel appeared to devotee Servant of God Antonia De Astónac. The Archangel told the nun that he wished to be honored through recitation of nine salutations. These nine salutations correspond to the nine choirs of angels. The chaplet consists of one Our Father and three Hail Mary in honor of each angelical choir. Promises: To those that practice this devotion in his honor, St. Michael promises great blessings: To send an angel from each angelical choir to accompany the devotees at the time of Holy Communion. Additionally, to those that recite these nine salutations every day, it assures them that they will enjoy his continuous assistance. That is to say, during this life and also after Furthermore, they will be accompanied by all the angels and together with all their loved ones, they will be freed from Purgatory. In this chaplet we will invoke all nine choirs of angels. After each invocation we will say 1 Our Father and 3 Hail Maries. We will offer this chaplet for the Church, so that it is defended of all the attacks of the demon, and for those alienated from God. In the Name of the Father…... The Chaplet starts by saying the following invocation: My God, come to my aid. Sir, rush to my assistance. Glory be to the Father, etc 1, Almighty and eternal God, by the intercession of Archangel Saint Michael and of the celestial choir of the Seraphims ignite in our hearts the flame of perfect charity. Amen. 1 Our Father and 3 Hail Maries. 9, Almighty and eternal God, by the intercession of Archangel Saint Michael Archangel and of the celestial choir of Angels, grant us the grace that they should guard us during this mortal life and thereafter lead us to Paradise. V. Pray for us, glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ. R. So that we may be worthy to reach its promises. Let us pray. Almighty and Eternal God, through a prodigy of your kindness and mercy in favor of the common salvation of men, you chose for Prince of your Church the most glorious Archangel Saint Michael, we beg to be freed by its powerful protection of all our enemies so that in the hour of the death no of them manages to disturb to us, so that he himself can usher us into the celestial mansion to eternally contemplate your august and divine Majesty. Send the Saintly Angels to defend us and to reject the demon, our mortal enemy. Amen. History of this prayer: To confront this great spiritual battle which we face, God has looked to provide for us. But we must pray if we want his assistance. The Venerable Luis Eduardo Cestac, founder of the Congregation of the Servants of Mary, writes about the Queen of Angels: In 1863 a soul... felt its mind elevated towards the Most Holy Virgin, that said indeed to the soul that, the demons walked loose in the world, and that the hour had arrived to request to her as Queen of the Angels requesting from her the holy legions to fight and to squash the infernal powers. -"My Mother", said this soul, "since you are so good, could you not send them without our pleading?" -"No", responded the Most Holy Virgin, "the prayer is a condition imposed by God to reach graces". - "Then, my Mother", said the soul "would You want to teach us how to pray?" And she believed to hear the prayer "Oh August Queen…….” Mr. Cestac was the depository of this prayer. The first thing he did was to present it to Monsignor Lacroix, bishop of Bayonne, that gave his approval. Immediately he printed half million copies, which were freely distributed throughout. Suffice it to say that during the first impression, the presses broke down twice. He will not be others to notice that, during the first impression, the machines were broken twice. The prayer to the Queen of Angels extended quickly and was approved by many bishops and archbishops. Saint Pío X granted three hundred days of indulgence to those who recited it. Just the same as in these times, it has been granted to the Demons and to all the evil Spirits a great deal of freedom for their diabolic manifestations, just as well these are the days in which the Angels of the Lord have to implement the most important part of my purpose. Heaven and earth are united in this hour of the great ultimate battle. I invite you, then, so that all of you form a single thing with the Angels and the Saints of Paradise. Mainly I invite to you to pray more to your guardian Angels, because they are called, in these times, to fulfill a particular mission, that I have assigned to them, in relation to each one of you, my favorite children. My Heart desires that in the daily prayer of the Angelus, you also include the prayer of:"Angel of God". I invite you to always live in intimacy and communication with your guardian Angels. Invoke them in your necessities; invoke them in the dangers; associate them to your work; confide your difficulties; look for them at the moment of temptation. Now, they must become one entity with you. Above all, feel the Archangels next to you, whose feast the Church celebrates today: St. Gabriel so it may give you the same strength of God; St. Raphael, so that it is the medicine of your wounds, and to St. Michael, so that it protects you from the terrible plots that these days, Satan schemes for you. Walk with them in the light of my purpose, and together battle under my orders. You are now called to see my greatest prodigies because you have entered at the time of you victory". |
